At the 2nd UIA Biennial Global Mobility Forum

GFDL Advogados participated in the 2nd UIA (Union Internationale des Avocats) Biennial Global Mobility Forum, held in Lisbon under the theme “Interdisciplinary Compliance and Planning in an Age of Global Disruption”.

João G. Gil Figueira, Partner at GFDL Advogados, took part as a panellist in the Art, Tax and Immigration session, addressing the tax challenges faced by globally mobile performative and creative artists within the European Union, in an increasingly complex and demanding regulatory environment.

The panel explored the intersection of tax, immigration and artistic activity, focusing on the compliance difficulties arising from cross-border mobility and the need for legal solutions that accommodate both regulatory obligations and professional practice.

The Forum brought together legal practitioners from multiple jurisdictions to analyse global mobility beyond immigration law, integrating perspectives from tax, banking, labour, art and business law, and highlighting the importance of coordinated, interdisciplinary legal advice.

GFDL Advogados extends its thanks to the Forum organisers, Clayton Cartwright and Andreea Haulbert, and to fellow panellists Inge te Pas, António Vieira and Graeme Kirk, for a thoughtful and engaging discussion.
