Tax Inspections – Portuguese Tax Authorities focus on particular industries

The Portuguese Tax Authority has released its National Inspection Plan.

Sectors and industries selected for tax inspection include Real Estate (construction & realtors), Hospitality (Hotels and Restaurants), new mobility solutions such as Uber and other platforms and short term rentals.

Another industry to be scrutinized in the near future is the football player’s market, due to suspicions of abusive tax planning.

The Tax Authorities stated these industries are prone to high levels of tax evasion. Almost 2000 tax inspectors will conduct audits.
