Portuguese passport ranks 4th – 2024 Passport Ranking

In today’s day and age, visa-free travel is a coveted luxury that impacts both business and leisure travel. Traditionally, European and American passports held unparalleled strength.

The 2024 Passport Index (by Henley & Partners) reflects the resurgence of European dominance.

Portugal, along with Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, and the UK, is considered a tier 4 passport, granting its citizens visa-free access to 191 countries. 

The ranking’s top spot is shared by France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Singapore: citizens of these countries enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 194 out of 195 countries.
