 In Uncategorized

The Portuguese Government passed new legislation to implement Regulation (EU) 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of July 23rd, 2014 on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market.

The new Decree-Law 12/2021 governs electronic means of identification in Portugal and adopts the terminology already used by the Regulation. It also sets the framework for the use and validity of electronic seals and electronic time stamps and equates qualified electronic registered delivery service with registered postal delivery service.

The new regulation will enter into force on March 11th, 2021.
