Deadline for Beneficial Ownership Registration Extended
The Portuguese Bureau for Notary Acts and Registrations extended the deadline for the submission of information with the Beneficial Ownership Registry.
The last deadline was Sunday, the 30th of June. The new deadline is November 30th 2019.
In line with the provisions of EU Directive 2015/849, Member States must ensure that corporate and other legal entities incorporated within their territories disclose adequate, accurate and updated information regarding beneficial ownership.
To comply with EU regulations, the Portuguese Authorities created the Central Registry of Beneficial Ownership. All non-listed companies must register the information of the persons (individuals or legal persons) who ultimately detain control or are the ultimate beneficiaries of all incorporated or registered companies in Portugal.
